The winter season will be here very soon. While this means cold temperatures are about to hit most of the country, Miami is one of the few cities in the United States that will stay relatively warm. The nice weather makes Miami the perfect place to visit if you are looking to get a break from the cold. These are the four best things to do in Miami this winter.
Night Garden
The Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden is a must-see attraction throughout the year, but it fully comes to life every winter for the Night Garden event. A large section of the beautiful park is transformed into an interactive light display. The glowing plants and talking trees are truly stunning to see. There will also be mazes, scavenger hunts and other fun activities at Night Garden.
South Beach Wine and Food Festival
The biggest food festival in the United States returns to Miami in February. Visitors will get a chance to watch intense cooking competitions and sample delicious food and drinks from some of the best chefs in the world. It is simply hard to beat a day of indulging on a beautiful beach. Some of the famous chefs that will be in attendance are Guy Fieri, Ted Allen, Bobby Flay and Duff Goldman.
Zoo Lights Miami
Zoo Miami is another great local attraction that is enhanced by a winter event. Zoo Lights Miami will be held every weekend during the month of December. Tropical light displays will be put up around the zoo to make the entire night a truly unique experience. In addition to viewing all of animals, visitors will also get a chance to meet Santa, enjoy a glass of hot chocolate and watch a few live music performances.
III Points Music Festival
While music festivals are typically reserved for the summer, III Points takes advantage of Miami’s great weather by holding one of the country’s biggest music festivals in February. The festival will host dozens of rising indie rock and hip hop acts over the course of two days. In addition to the excellent music, there will also be innovative art and technology displays located throughout the festival. The full music lineup will be announced in December.
